Definitions:
Beast: Three words translated as “beast”.
1) A living creature – as used in Rev 4 and Ezek 1.
2) A domestic quadruped (donkey, cow) – as Luke 10:34 – the Good Samaritan
3) A wild dangerous or venomous creature (see Acts 28:4) as used in this study. An evil kingdom or system as referenced in Daniel 7:23.
Heads: Nations (Mountains) Rev: 17:9 [Also “Hills”, as Rome, the City of 7 Hills]
Horns: Kings (Men) Dan 7:24 and Rev 17:12
Crowns: Daniel 7:24 the horns are Kings. In Revelation the word used here is diadems (a royal headband bound around the head) and refers to positions, titles, appointments, or offices, held by men as leaders. See page 3 for other “crowns”.
Daniel Chapter 2 – The Image
1) Gold Head – Meades of Babylon – From Northwestern Iran
2) Silver Breast and Arms – Persians of Babylon –The United Iran
3) Brass Belly and Thighs – Greek Empire
4) Iron Legs, Feet of Iron/Clay mixture – Roman Empire, “legs” (old) and “feet” (revived). The stone cut without hands is the Kingdom of God; Newman claims it’s the RC Church.
Daniel Chapter 7 – Four Beasts (Traditional Interpretation) Arose from the Sea (The World System). They are kings (Daniel 7:17) and their kingdoms.
1st Beast – Lion has Eagle wings, stands on feet as a man, and a man’s heart – (Babylon)
2nd Beast – Bear with 3 Ribs in his mouth – (Persian)
3rd Beast – Leopard (has 4 wings and 4 heads – (Greece)
4th Beast – Iron teeth, brass nails; 10 horns (men) on one head (kingdom) the 11th (Little Horn, is a man) [Dan 7:8, 20, 24] who plucks up three other rulers (now making 8). This one (the 11th) that spoke pompous words; made war against the saints and prevailed, until Ancient of Days came. This one may be The Man of Sin? (2 Thes 2:3). His authority for world dominion lasts for 3 ½ years (Dan7:25), the time of the Antichrist. This 4th beast is also a spirit and a system and has been interpreted as a revived Roman Empire.
Possible modern interpretation of Daniel’s Four (Chapter 7) Beasts:
1st Beast –Lion Represents Great Britain. Wings of the Eagle plucked off – the US (symbolized by the Eagle) is removed as a colony. Stands on two feet like a man and is given a man’s heart. These countries have historically been the heart of the mission work of Christianity. The English language has become universal. US, Canada and Australia are still identified with this one.
2nd Beast–Bear is clearly seen today as Russia. Three ribs in its mouth. Arise and devour much flesh. The bear is currently arising again with ambition to devour more territory. It is also understood that the bear is a symbol of Berlin, Germany.
3rd Beast–Leopard has four heads – Germany. Four wings (of a fowl, not eagle) on its back may speak of France (whose symbol is the rooster) and three other strong EU economies. Modern Germany’s Four heads are outlined below, 1st – 4th Reich:
1st Reich – 800-1806 Begins with Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire.
2nd Reich – 1870-1919 – Bismarck thru the end of WW I – to Wilhelm I.
3rd Reich – 1933-1945 – Adolph Hitler. Upon his defeat a deadly wound was made which divided Germany, East/West. This wound was healed in 1991 after Reagan stood at Brandenburg Gate and asked Gorbachev to tear down this wall. It came down the same year and Germany was reunited.
4th Reich 1951 through the present time. The 1957 Treaty of Rome (at the initiation of the Pope), later called the Maastricht Treaty to hide its identity, was the foundation of the European Union and began to work in concert with the United Nations. The Parliament Building in Strasbourg, France is built to resemble the unfinished Tower of Babel. Statue of the woman (Europa) riding the beast (a wild bull) in front of the other EU Parliament Building in Brussels.
4th Beast of Daniel 7 remains not yet clearly identified. Probably a combination of the other three. See Revelation 13’s beast rising from the sea for another description.
Daniel Chapter 8 is another vision and the interpretation is given specifically. The ram with two horns is Media and Persia. The he goat is Greece and its kings, starting with Alexander the Great. Another Little Horn [8:9] in type refers to more than Antiochus IV [8:23-25]. See also the Willful King in [11:36-45 and 12:11].
Revelation 12:3 speaks more of Satan and his spiritual (war in heaven) empire with his fallen angels and demons. The 7 heads, 10 horns and 7 crowns compare with Rev 13:1 and 17:3. There is a difference in the color uses: here the dragon is red (flame colored), as is the second horse in the second seal 6:4. In Rev 17:3 the beast is scarlet (crimson color). This serpent spirit is cast down into the carnal (earth) realm and manifests as the beast in Rev 13:1+.
Revelation 13-The Beast is raised from the Sea, the economic – political (temporal) system of world government whose real head is Satan.
7 Heads – Nations (G 7?) One head is wounded then healed; this could be the third head of the leopard (Germany?), now represented as the 4th leopard head that now is the economic leader of the revived (also healed) Roman Empire. While the EU now actually consists of about 27 nations, there are 7 separate nations that actually set the economic policy for the world of finance (G7?). [Please note that the G7 is now known as the G8 and includes US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and Russia]. However, my list of a possible 7 includes the most powerful/influential nations of today are: UK (not in Shengan and not using the Euro currency) , USA North America), Russia (and her republics), Japan, China (not in the formal G8 list), Germany (with EU partners France and Italy) and Iran (also not on the G8 list but a lately rising possible 7th head, or possibly another representative of a Muslim block of nations). Brazil is another country (representing South America) that will have to be reckoned with in the near future. Any final world ruler- beast will either have to ally with or subdue these nations.
10 Horns – Men, Leaders. These change with the passing of time. To identify ten at this time for a final beast would still be speculation, but it will soon become clear who they are. Russia’s Mr. Putin is certainly an up and coming name. Possible hidden, shadow government, world bankers, UN chief and such could be among this number.
10 Crowns – Diadems (1238) as also used in Rev. 12:3 (7 Crowns). Are 3 missing (reduce 10 to 7) or have 3 been added (from the devil’s 7 to make 10). Could it be compared with Daniel 7 beast where 3 horns have been uprooted and the up-rooter removes 3 horns (leaders), removes their crowns (positions) becomes the one supreme “man of sin” (2 Thes 2:3)? [Note: The Woman Church (Rev 12:1) is crowned with a garland (a twined wreath) or chaplet of 12 stars, a symbol of honor or a prize won]. This is the crown worn by the beasts in 12:3 and 13:1. The only other place this crown is seen is on the triumphant Christ in 19:12 who wears many.
Revelation 13 – The Beast that rises from the Earth (the carnal realm of the church/ one world religion)
He has Two Horns (two men) like a lamb but speaks like a dragon. This beast is in charge of “worship” and working signs and wonders. There are two men who are the key figures here; the Roman Catholic Pope is clearly the best candidate for the one horn and the other will probably come from the Evangelical/Pentecostal big names (a fallen star) of the church, or false prophet (there are several good candidates at any time). One of these stars has opened the abyss and has released the invading horde of locust spirits. This religion beast works in very close concert with the other beast (as in the days of the old Holy Roman Empire) and wields a lot of power. This is undoubtedly The Woman (Harlot) who rides the scarlet colored beast (Rev 17:3), the world economic/political system. The problem with this interpretation is, “What about Islam?” It must be either defeated or joined.
Possible 2nd Horn: Suppose Roman Catholicism and Islam become actually joined together. Islam is supposedly looking for the coming of their “Messiah”, the Grand Mustafa (chosen one). Could that account for the sudden revival of execution by beheading of infidels (who refuse to submit to the new world order system)? This kind of treatment is not new to Roman Catholicism. Note that the rider of the Pale Horse (The fourth seal, Rev 6:8) is given power to kill a fourth of the earth with a sword (a saber, a long broad cutlass, the kind used by ancient Persia for beheading). This is a different one than the “great sword” given to the second rider (the red horse).
Revelation 17 – The Scarlet Colored Beast full of names of blasphemy. This beast comes up out of the abyss.
Like the beast from the sea, it has Seven Heads (Great Nations) v 3, which are (Seven Mountains) v 9. And Seven Kings (5 are fallen, one is current and one is to come to power for a short term rule) v 10. And 10 Horns which are 10 Kings v3, v12. These 10 are not of the above 7 but are appointed by the one to rule with his administration and are in full agreement with him. This is probably another description of the same beast mentioned in Revelation 13:1 (7 heads, 10 horns, 10 crowns) and again in Revelation 12:3 as a great Red Dragon (7 heads, 10 horns, 7 crowns). Also surely the same as Daniel 7’s Fourth Beast ) 10 horns that ended up being 7, overshadowed by an 8th (little horn). It is interesting that the mention of beast refers to 3 entities: Satan himself, his world system of government, and his antichrist/man of sin.
The mention in v 11 of “the beast that was, and is not, even he is the 8th and is of the 7, and goeth unto perdition”, is a challenge in understanding the writer’s perspective of time; what is past, what is present and what is future? This 8th horn is clearly the antichrist and his level of influence waxes and wanes throughout history. There has not been a supreme world emperor for some time now. About the early 1940’s there were 4 candidates on the world scene (Hitler, Mussolini, Toto and Stalin) but none of them succeeded. But there have been some in the past, Nimrod being the first. I believe that Satan is constantly grooming several candidates and is waiting for God’s release when he can actually move one of them to the world stage of conquest. That should happen soon. One of the key events here in Revelation 17:16-18 is the casting off of the woman/harlot rider (a rider is usually in control) and her destruction. There comes a time when the world government no longer needs the Roman Catholic religious system or any other for that matter to carry on its evil business of destroying man, the temple of God.
Gog and the Land of Magog Mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39, and Revelation 20:7-9. This reference in Revelation 20 seems clearly after the 1000 year millennial reign of Christ. Ezekiel 38:16 refers to this invasion as in the “latter days” so it may very well refer to natural nations and the spirits aligned with then in our present time. So let’s identify the players.
Gog (Ezekiel 38:1-2) seems to be identified as a man, the Chief Prince of Meshech and Tubal in the land of Magog (These three along with Gomer and his son Togarmah) are all sons of Japeth. There is not 100% consensus among bible historians as to the exact locations of these tribes but it is mostly believed that they are directly north of Israel in the lands north of the Caucuses Mountains (between the Black and Caspian Seas). Some say that these are the original names for cities like Moscow (Meshech) or Tobol’sk (Tubal). Josephus believed that Magog were the Scythians who lived northeast of the Black Sea (east of Ukraine). On a further note, the Great Wall of China was once known as the Ramparts of Magog, to protect China from Magog (the Scythians and Mongols). The best current candidate for this chief prince is Mr. Putin of Russia. Magog is also believed to be the region between Armenia and Media – The Republics of Southern Russia – the Afghanistan and other ‘Stans including Turkey, Georgia and Iran (all Muslim Countries).
Ezekiel 38:5-6, these are the nations that are working in concert with Gog of Magog. In verse 5 Persia is modern Iran. Ethiopia is Cush in Hebrew; he was the son of Ham and the father of Nimrod. It usually refers to the land of the upper Nile south of Egypt in what is now Sudan and Somalia, but not present Ethiopia. Libya is Put in Hebrew and is another son of Ham and includes the countries of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria (northwestern Africa).
Verse 6 Makes mention of Gomer and Togarmah and the mention of their coming from the “north quarters” really means they come from the far north which would certainly suggest (but not prove) Russia’s involvement. Now in the fall of 2015 we see Putin’s Russia taking an active position again in the mid east. Togarmah could very well be the southeastern part of Turkey, near the border of Syria, Iraq and Iran. It is said that the Armenians (between Turkey and Azerbaijan and south of Georgia) claim to be of the House of Togarmah. Some have placed Gomer in Germany and possible Northwestern and Eastern Europe but may more likely be the Cimmerians of north central Asia Minor. I am thinking that Gomer’s descendants probably split and went both directions. My Conclusion: this is a consortium of Muslim nations who are at least assisted in some way by Russia. This may be a new ISIS or ISIL.
Verse 13 identifies countries that seem ready to challenge the invaders, at least verbally (making an objection before the UN) but not really doing much about it. Sheba and Dedan seems clearly to be the Arabian Peninsula, not in agreement with Iran. Tarshish is an ancient name for a southern port of Spain, on the western Mediterranean at the Straights of Gibraltar; It represents Europe. The young lions include the UK, US, Canada, Australia and probably the EU. Egypt, Syria and Iraq are not specifically mentioned.
